A 55"h x5.5"w x6"d installation in a residence outside of Vancouver, Canada. It was designed for a niche 10 feet above a staircase. The client wanted the colors of the sunset.

This pieces is a glass weaving of 'cane'. The process involves pulling the glass into the strips called 'canes'. Then the cane is placed in a kiln to be heated to a temperature hot enough to slump and bend the glass into an arch. The glass was arranged in a gradation which was influenced by the view of the sunset and surrounding water at the site. Each piece of cane was individually wrapped to the stainless steel armature with copper wire.
