Carlyn’s Fullfilling Start to 2023

February 1, 2023

Having had different family members in and out of the hospital, I personally have felt the positive influence and emotional strength of colorful art. Being able to place glass art in places where people are looking for strength, hope, and connection has always been a passion of mine.

That is why I am so excited to share with you that I am creating healing art for Mercy Hospital in Durango,
Colorado. They have 2 glass weavings going into their NICU area, and one for a special place they are making for their nurses to relax and restore. This project fills my heart!

Carlyn Ray Mercy Hospital NICU weavings

Carlyn Ray working on her newest weaving project with Mercy Hospital in Durango, Colorado. After each piece of glass is pulled, they are
carefully placed to create a unique color story, similar to how women have shared their stories through textile weavings for centuries. Each
piece is then hand woven to the structure with metal wire, sewing each strand into place. Once backlit, the colors come alive and reveal a
feeling of warmth and joy, only achieved through glass.
