We love to make it a family creation! The Parker Family and designer Shawna Kuykendall had an amazing color palette to work with and two great spaces to fill with art. Carlyn started with a few different sketches of what she saw in the space. Shawna was drawn to a new “Color Burst” look with the glass ribbons randomly placed in the two areas.
Designer Amy and Mrs. Hanna came to Carlyn with the need of art on their master bedroom wall. After Mrs. Hanna fell in love with the blossoms, Carlyn suggested a metal branch with glass leaves and blossoms and invited the Hanna family into the studio to participate.
We had the best turn out to date this year, and we are grateful to all those who joined us for this year’s annual open house event!

Lee Financial has a team building tradition that they like to call ‘Crazy Day’. On this day, they have several different events planned and no one has any idea what they are about to walk into – be it driving construction equipment, a painting class, or in this case – a glassblowing studio!
The Fletcher Farley pieces were a joy to create. We worked primarily with Doug Fletcher, first on the ribbon wall and then with the fusion panels.

Weavings are a very special signature piece for me. Since the first custom weaving I designed for a house in Vancouver, I have been fine-tuning this design for the past seven years.
We are all loving the process of creating these beautiful projects with Girls Inc. of Metropolitan Dallas! Also, we are super excited to announce that North Park Center will be hosting our chandelier for a few months with hopefully our mosaics, metal sign and details about the creation!
I am so excited to announce the installation and completion of the fusion panels that I and my team have spent a good portion of this last year to perfect the creation of these 50″ tall illuminated panels.
It’s not often that one gets to collaborate with a mentor. This painted weaving “Riverwalk”, I created with an artist who is my inspiration, mentor, and now angel. Mema, also known as Hermine Sallinger, was a master watercolorist.

The Renaissance Dallas Hotel celebrated the grand opening of the CityView Terrace and their Grand Ballroom with a fashion show catered by the hotels two executive chefs – and a weaving by Carlyn Ray Designs.
The 2014 Artist vs Architect event has come to and end, but really the beginning has just begun! The 12 artists and architects raised $41,000.00 for Big Thought!
