Gathering Light

Creating this weaving for a glassed-in outdoor space was such a joyful process. The design is alive with movement and color, echoing the vibrant energy of the surrounding landscape. With its fluid forms, the weaving bridges indoors and out, allowing the natural light to dance across the glass and shift with the day’s rhythm.

As sunlight pours through the windows or glows softly at dusk, the installation becomes a luminous backdrop where homeowners and guests gather, celebrate, and make memories. It’s a piece that doesn’t just live in the space—it connects the people within it to the beauty of nature, weaving together art, light, and life.

Art for Advocacy

As Curatorial Chair for Art for Advocacy, Carlyn invited over 70 artists whose works helped raise more than $410,000 toward the event’s record $2.1 million in support of the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center. She contributed to the live auction “Champions”, a fused glass piece created with DCAC clients — child abuse survivors who decorated the glass and infused the piece with their own voices of strength and healing.

It was a joy to be part of such a powerful evening, where art became a catalyst for connection, healing, and change.
