GLASS UPLIFTS

Trinity Interests

Having done a glass project with Trinity Interest in the past, when it was time to think about redoing their lobby they first thought of creating a unique art piece with Carlyn! After several design meetings, everyone felt the lit glassicles would be elegant, unique, uplifting, and colorful. Carlyn suggested multiple canopies to provide an artistic and creative touch from which to suspend the 36 glassicles. The all-female team at Trinity Interests were drawn to a variety of glass colors including teals, aquas, and blues featured in their existing art pieces.

The existing art collection influenced the glass color. Carlyn pulled from the teals, aquas, and blues featured in each piece to complement the palette.

Our clients are thrilled that all their tenants in the building love the new addition.

It warms my heart that they continue to hear compliments of how the lobby feels so much more alive and uplifting!

COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT

ESD Events (M&T group)

Carlyn enjoyed sharing with the ESD 7th graders of when the first seed of “Path and Purpose” was planted. It was in 7th grade when she heard Father Swann talk about “Path and Purpose” in daily chapel which led her to use glass as a vehicle to inspire others and give back to her community. She asked students to reflect on how they feel after participating in community service and to consider how to continue incorporating it into our community. Carlyn shared how she grew her nonprofit and studio simultaneously and the importance she places on working with students in underserved areas.

Each student also made their own glass pieces in the hot shop, learned about the Magic of Glass in a dynamic presentation, followed by a studio tour led by Carlyn explaining how Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) directly plays a big role in all of her creations!
