About the Project
We have delighted in working numerous years now with the Arts Council Wichita Falls. In the pat years, they have bussed students from the rural areas around Wichita Falls to our studio to participate in our Art Reaching Out (ARO) hands-on, STEM, glassblowing program. Carlyn serves is the artistic director and shares her experience with glass being learning different and the strengths that have come from what were struggles. Then the students stay and work with Carlyn and her team to fuse glass to transform their community. Past groups have decorated their airport, library, and the parks and recreation center. This is a heart-driven project that continues to give. As Carlyn likes to say, “There are many pieces we can make here, but the more hands and hearts in a piece the more special it is. It is an honor to work and create with all of these students. I am continuously inspired by their thoughtful designs.” Watch this fun local news story on the project at the Airport.
