About the Project
Colorful glass books open and their pages billow as glass letters and shapes soar above, sparking imagination and curiosity. More than 250 handcrafted glass elements are suspended from the ceiling, illuminated by natural light filtering through the skylight.
At the heart of the installation is community participation- 100 glass letters were decorated by members of the Garland community, embedding their creativity and voices directly into the artwork. Suspended shapes of flowers, hearts, cats, and clouds echo the vibrant murals in the children’s area below, which is playfully accessed by a slide leading from the ground floor into a colorful reading haven.
Together, light, color, and storytelling transform the library into a space where imagination takes flight and every visitor is invited to see themselves as part of the story.
